Welcome to Kachemak Kids Early Learning Center!

KKELC is a non-profit, cooperative-style, early education and childcare center located in Homer, Alaska.

Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, cooperative-style preschool and child care program that strengthens families through the education of parents and staff.  We strive to provide awareness and role modeling for the Homer community regarding safe, nurturing child care, child development, and integrated learning for children, their families, and other community members.

KKELC: Learning through Discovery

We believe in the value of play and creative exploration as a means for children to develop a life-long love of learning, effective skills of collaboration, an understanding of the importance of kindness and respect among all, and an ability to think with innovation.

We honor the ideas and passions that each student brings to our group and our curriculum emerges from our student’s interests. Teachers are co-learners with the children and are here to nurture each child’s natural curiosity. We value a strong partnership between home and school, and provide many opportunities and means for families to share in their child’s early education.
